Q: Do I have to be a member of Zion Lutheran Church in order to attend the school?
Do I have to be a member of Zion Lutheran Church in order to attend the school?

A: It is not required that you be a member at our church in order to attend our school although, all are welcome to visit our church and to give it consideration, especially if you don't already have a church home in which you are active. Currently, over half of our students are from non-member families. All children are accepted regardless of religious background, race, creed, or colour. We ask that our school families choose Zion Lutheran School because they agree with the schools' philosophy and that raising children in a Christian environment is important.

A: As a Christian school we share the message of Christ's love for us throughout each day. All of our subjects are taught through a Christian perspective. We use the same textbooks prescribed by the BC Ministry of Education, but we are able to share the information in a more enlightening way. We also enhance the prescribed curriculum with materials purchased by the school.

Q: How are the students viewed at Zion Lutheran School?
How are the students viewed at Zion Lutheran School?

A: Each student is special in God's eyes. All children are taught with this in mind. Communication between the school and home is very important. The school does not replace the parents' responsibilities, but together with the home, the staff works to develop the full potential of each child. The teacher will contact the home when parents need to be aware of circumstances. When discipline is necessary, it is in love, with Christ's forgiveness always in mind.
